Altira Business Park in Herne Bay wins Planning Appeal to build a hotel and restaurant

Kitewood the Kent based property developers have this week won an appeal decision to build a new 50 room Premier Travel Inn and Brewers Fayre family restaurant on Altira Business Park in Herne Bay, Kent.

Joe Crawley, Kitewood’s Managing Director said “We have commenced building Altira Business Park this year and are thrilled with this decision. The Whitbread hotel and restaurant will play a crucial role in providing leisure facilities for our occupiers on the business park.  We welcome this decision from Canterbury Council and look forward to continuing with our build programme for Altira Business Park, which is attracting new interest every week.  In addition to Whitbread we will be making announcements of other new occupiers next month!”

Kitewood Urban Development

We are proud to be one of the major providers of affordable housing in London.

From our City office, the specialist urban team work on a wide range of projects from 100% low cost housing to mixed use and private housing schemes.

Our current development programme is driving towards denser mixed use housing. Because we work within the radius of the M25, an area where we all live, have families and play various roles in the community, we have a vested interest in this area of growth.

We understand its history, how it works and wish to be part of shaping its future and Kitewood thrives on finding solutions, adding value and minimising
financial risk.

SOUTHBURY ROAD
120 FLATS AND RETAIL

This re-development of a former railway siding in Enfield is typical of our innovative problem solving. It incorporates a car pool, green accessible roofs and retail space and is as accessible by foot as by car.

It is designed to modern methods of construction, low car parking provision and has earned an EcoHomes rating of ‘very good’.

YIEWSLEY/WEST DRAYTON
MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT

This town centre location has been assembled by Kitewood from a number of sites during the past few years. As a result, the scheme is now ideally placed to accommodate a high density mixed use development which will reduce reliance on the car and enable it to perform to high sustainability criteria which is of huge importance to the Group.

HARROW ROAD
53 AFFORDABLE FLATS

Falling between two Boroughs, this project to build a low cost block of flats involved a complicated planning process. A cleverly concealed fourth floor allowed Kitewood to design homes with spectacular views and terraces while at the same time fulfilling their brief to increase the housing density.

HAYES END ROAD
40 AFFORDABLE FLATS

Local home owners were extremely resistant to this affordable housing scheme in an abandoned warehouse because of its change of use from a commercial to residential site.

Before even applying for planning permission our team built relationships with the private and business sector neighbouring the site. Then, by incorporating a key worker element into the scheme, we were able to gain a positive planning outcome for this development.
